Why would a newspaper ditch the smartest and most politically/socially relevant comic?  One can only wonder.  F-minus?  Then today, there was the editorial about how great it is to talk politics at the family dinner to raise smart kids.  The irony is unreal.  If we want a smart population, we must have quality smart news content.  For news, I love reading my local paper every day but my morning SF Chronicle just became more important.

The recent changes to the comics are all negative. First is was shifting several of the strips to the Classified section (plus one to the business section--at least Dilbert is in context). Next was moving these hard-to-find items to a different location every day, making them even harder to find. Then we get the Sunday section reduced from 6 pages to 4, and shrunk to a microscopic size. And now the crowning blow--elimination of a couple of favorites, Doonesbury and Pardon My Planet.

I'm disappointed in my local newspaper!

Political Cartoons belong on the editorial page. This doonsbury is the most biased one sided cartoon ever. The fact is its always running down our troops, and the fight for freedom they are trying to do for all of us. I hope it stays gone.
