I think the "professional homeless" should be given No money or handouts,...but instead, be given directions to the nearest Unemployment Office or Temp. Agency to accept work or day labor.

It wasn't too long ago that the City of San Jose gave the homeless One-Way Bus tickets to Modesto, and cities in Nevada still give One-Way bus tickets into California, as the way to address their homeless population! Thanks alot Nevada!

Point being,...alot of the "professional homeless" are NOT from around here,...yet Modesto Taxpayers must deal with the fallout!
Not a good situation. We need to let local governments in other areas know that Modesto already has ENOUGH of a homeless population, and to stop sending their problems to Modesto!

I did not realize that Nevada was giving their homeless free one-way tickets to California, and also San Jose giving them tickets to this area. I think we should reciprocate the favor!
BUT....unless someone has a bright, foolproof idea, the homeless will always be in large numbers here. I have not heard one idea yet that could be implemented to solve the problem. BUT.....if they are going to be standing on a corner/area and they keep it clean, I will give them something to eat. I don't give money. Who else is going to clean it up? There certainly aren't enough of the people griping about the litter willing to do anything about it. So it's an interesting, and thought-provoking idea.
