Didn't we know this all along?
So they found that the barium in the fill dirt in the new Highway 132 / Kansas Interchange dirt was non-threatening. Well, what a surprise. The former FMC plant was on “ Barium Rd ” and fill dirt like this was used all over Modesto and all up and down the valley. Barium is naturally occurring to some degree and if it is Barium Sulfate, it is non soluble and poses no threat. Plus, this will all be paved over for a freeway so what are we waiting for? We need to get our freeways and roads fixed.
