    • “Modesto Design” exhibit
      Starts: 12:00 pm

      Location: Modesto Art Museum and McHenry Museum
      Description: The city’s design heritage is celebrated in “Modesto Design,” an exhibition of objects and designs sponsored by the Modesto Art Museum. The works, created by people who live or have lived in Modesto, opens Tuesday and runs through June 8. There will be a reception for the exhibit from 1 to 3 p.m. May 10. The exhibit covers everything from fashion and machinery to plants, equipment and more. It features six designers: tattoo artist Charlie Cartwright, auto designer Gene Winfield, font designer Jim Parkinson and furniture and interior designers Craig Leavitt, Steven Weaver and Michael Taylor.
