City to Make Modesto 4th Proclamation

Greetings Modesto Friends.

It’s coming soon!
The most special day in the Star Wars calendar.
Yes, it is almost May the 4th. People around the world have been celebrating this special day for years and now its is time for Modesto to officially adopt this message of peace and hope. The City of Modesto will be making this proclamation at the May the 3rd City Council Meeting at 5:30 pm. Please come dressed to represent the film.

Since 1977, “May the Force be With You” has been part of the global lexicon. This phrase, created by Modesto native George Lucas symbolizes the magic and influence of his epic film Star Wars, the follow up film to his breakthrough American Graffiti.

Just say “May the 4th Be With You” out loud and you will hear the pun that so many Star Wars fans worldwide have used to proclaim their love of the saga. “May the Force be with you” to all that celebrate Modesto’s best known citizen George Lucas’s beloved Star Wars story is the phrase that binds us all together and is a message of hope for all, like peace or shalom.

Joins us at the Modesto City Council Chambers at 5:30 Tuesday May the 3rd, so that we can celebrate the proclamation of a new commemorative Modesto day. May the 4th! Wednesday night on May the 4th, there will be a special May the 4th Party at the Boardroom at 7 pm till closing.
Please come dressed in your finest Star Wars cosplay.
