It is Cocktail Time!
Modesto has some dy-no-mite cocktails. From the brain killers at the Tiki (where yours truly took the Hootie and the Blowfish to drink) to the dessert flavors of Minnie's to the upscale old school drinks of Tressetti's or Galletto to the trendy tastes at 1505, or the hundreds of Martinis on the menu at Jacobs, You really can take your pick. Your favorite Martini, the best Bloody Mary. Where can you get it? Who has the coolest vibe? Best bartender? A little live music? There are a bunch of cool little places many you have never heard of. Helpful tips!
When you plan your day or evening, then you need to see all of the things that can be grouped together. When you go to a show at The State or the Fat Cat Music House, plan on an early dinner reservation at 5:00 or 5:30. Most of the shows at The State are at 7:30 or 8:00. Many of the headliners at the Fat Cat start at 10:00 pm so you make make it a triple play, dinner - show - aftershow, all in walking distance from your parked car or hotel. Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, most downtown restaurants are open late.

There is parking on 9th Street between K and L. There is a big garage on 11th Street between I and J. You can find another garage on the corner of 11th and K street. K is one way, so approach the garage entry from 9th Street. Most of the downtown restaurants and nightlife are all walking distance from these garages. Usually, there is plenty of street parking in the evenings. Have fun in Modesto.
