Greetings from ModestoView | 02-06-2019

ModestoView News Letter

Greetings Friends!

Did you get your parkas and scarves out last night?
These cold winter days are pretty cool, nowhere near the –50 that the midwest experienced last week, but we can enjoy the brief chill.   I don’t know about you, but this is some of the best snow we have had in ages, so I hope you are going to wax and Pete your skis and go check out Bear or Dodge.  Should be prime time powder.

This week we really get it going with a full house of great shows, starting with country’s Tracy Byrd tonight, and then Modesto Rotary’s Chicago Tribute Beginnings Thursday, then R&B star CeCe Winans on Friday and then a double feature on Sat night with the benefit for Camp Jack Hazard with the reunion of California Zephyr all at the Gallo Center and the Johnny Cash Birthday local all-star party at the Prospect Theater. AND THEN (catch your breath) a super Bowie show Sunday at the Gallo featuring the legendary musicians that recorded and toured with David Bowie for decades.  Amazing huh?  Nothing to do around here, right??

Don’t miss the opening of the FotoModesto at the Mistlin Gallery Friday night and see the best of the best from our local photographers on display.   But please, tell your friends about all of these great events, enjoy our community and I hope you have had a chance to read our amazing February issue already.

I’ll see you out and about and have a great time. – Chris Murphy

ServiceView: Great Rotary Events

By Chris Murphy

The best communities are filled with people who get involved and give their time, talent and money back. Sometimes it seems complicated to do, but it is really easier than you think. This is where our local service groups come in. It is the power of a group that makes this work. It is easier to team up to solve a problem than taking it on alone. Read More
