Greetings from ModestoView | 03-21-2019
ModestoView News Letter

Greetings Friends!

Wow, we are back in the rain zone and I don’t know about you, I’ll take all we can get.  It’s harder to get the new trees in the ground but there should be amazing spring shorts and T-shirt skiing, and who doesn’t love that?

This week is loaded with cool things to do here in good ole Modesto USA.  The crew of Up With People will be performing at the Gallo Center Friday evening while they are here in Modesto working on civic projects.  Thanks to our friend Thomas Lopez of Fuzio for making this happen.  This is something really cool.

Also cool,  we are back on the big TV screen as a local Modestan makes it to Hollywood week on American Idol.  Let’s root for Ryan!  If you missed opening week of the Modesto Farmer’s Market, don’t miss out this week.  The treats are tasty and it is so good to enjoy the agricultural riches of our area.  There is a super cool multi format dance show by the amazing Central West Ballet at the Gallo Center called Creations, with cool choreography by artistic director Rene Daveluy.

In local MAMA Music news, our good friend Big Earl and his Poorhouse Millionaires are releasing a new CD called Nouveau Riche at Ralston’s Goat on Saturday night.  New local music is always a good thing.   There is just so much variety in our town, make sure you get out and explore and enjoy.

Pre-Marathon Training Tips

By Thomas Lopez, Dusty Bottoms & Fuzio

The Modesto Marathon is coming up. Let’s make sure you are ready for the big day and you get the most out of your training. Here are a few great tips.

1. Start eating right days before the marathon. Your pre-race meal is important, but give your body a chance to properly nourish over more than just one day. Also, make that dinner pre-race meal an early one. Give your body a chance to digest it and turn it into fuel before the early morning comes. Read More
