High Fashion Takes Flight in Modesto

Over 400 guests got the red carpet treatment as they strolled through the doors of the Sky Trek DC Air Hanger at the Modesto Airport. Each guest had the opportunity to get photographed by waiting photographers as they entered the gala.
Guests mingled throughout the evening while enjoying hors d’oeuvres and cocktails provided by local vendors including Barefoot Wine, Fuzio Universal Bistro, High Roller Vodka and Galletto Ristorante.
All proceeds from the event will benefit Modesto’s Project Uplift which mentors at-risk youth ages 9 to 18. This is the first year that the annual event has donated all proceeds to a local charity.
Guests of the event seemed in awe of the size of the production. Two private jets could be seen through long flowing curtains at one end of the runway. Use of the 30,000-square-foot hangar was donated by local businessman Dan Costa and his wife Denise.
As pumping music played, a total of 22 models made their way down the runaway as the large crowd cheered in support of their efforts. Models were outfitted in clothing that was provided for the evening by Mira Bridal Couture and Kenneth’s Fine Menswear.
The event was coordinated by Mira Jantz who owns Mira Bridal Couture and publishes Bridal Couture Magazine. The event was staffed by an army of volunteers. Many of the volunteers completed the aeronautical theme of the event by dressing like flight-attendants. The event allowed several participants of Project Uplift the chance to volunteer and learn from the experience.
