Greetings Modesto Fans :
(reading time: less than it takes to check sign up for the Run to the Relays fun run on Saturday morning.)
The ModestoView weekly greeting is back after a brief hiatus. Sitting in a local diner in north Omaha Nebraska watching the severe storm warnings on the TV and local destruction made me wish I was back in Modesto . As I enjoyed the blues bars of Chicago and the cuisine in Toronto , I always paused to think how much of this great stuff we have in Modesto . Sure, the big city blues clubs are open till 5 am, but we have Blue Mondays, Fat Tuesdays and live music every night of the week and spring is way better in California . Spring makes things better whether in the high school auditoriums, on the bike trails and on the patios of our great locally owned and independent restaurants, our back yards and around the neighborhoods, we are the real deal. With a premier track and field event, multiple events at the Gallo Center and the State and tons of great local bands, it feels like we live in a bigger city, without all the hassles. I know you dig it Modesto . Read the rest of the Weekly Greeting here.
