Fall is in the air and yes we are ready for the changing of the season. Cooler weather in store and no longer sweating in places I did not know I had places. Take a cool walk to our farmer’s market Thursdays and Saturdays for music as well as locally grown veggies. Hope to see you out and about for the lowdown in the downtown.

The Blue Monday Party returns October 14th to the Barkin’ Dog Grill with special guest Caribbean Steel Drum virtuoso Ross McGinnis out of the Caribbean island of Ripon California. We will be playing some Soca, Caribbean standards as well as pop and Latin. House Band with; Johnny Valdes Guitar, Conrad Johnson vocals & Bass, John Adey Bass, Drums Dave Hawks, horn section Raul Slaps Bone, Kevin Marin Trumpet and Keys David Dow and Eric Benson. Call ahead the Dog for best seating at the Dog.

The new season for the Gallo in is with diverse offering; Oct 3rd Jen Hatmaker, Oct 9th LOS LOBOS, and Oct 10th Get the Led Out. Critic’s choice goes see Los Lobos, one of the hardest working bands from Tex Mex, to Rock to Texas Blues. They never disappoint, got my box tickets already!
And the Barkin’ Dog Grill, one of my favorite family friendly venues continues with some live music coming at you in October; 5th Mark Mascenti, 12th Larry Stewart & David Dow, 8th Tuesday Poetry with Stella, 9th Patty Davis & Steve Ashman, 14th Blue Monday Party with Eric Benson Presents, 17th Art Walk with David Dow Jazz. West Side Theatre: Saturday, October 19: Sound Reasoning. Reggae Rock with Blazing Brass, & Saturday, October 26: Long Time – A tribute to the music of Boston. Doors open 7:0O. Check out the West Side Theater at: www.westsidetheatre.org

And the Fruit Yard out on Yosemite Ave brought in some smoking Blues with BUDDY GUY, Jimmie Vaughn and Charlie Musclewhite August. Shows coming at you; October 6th Michael McDonald of the Doobie Brothers gonna rock the house.
