SACRAMENTO, CA (July 2015) Make-A-Wish Northeastern California and Northern Nevada is looking for committed and passionate volunteers in the San Joaquin and Stanislaus area. Selected volunteers will assist in making wishes a reality for children with life-threatening medical conditions.

Make-A-Wish Northeastern California and Northern Nevada is hosting an informative Volunteer Fair on Thursday, July 9 from 5:00-6:30 p.m. at The Health Plan of San Joaquin, 7751 S Manthey Rd French Camp, CA to encourage citizens of San Joaquin and Stanislaus counties to join the ranks of  Make-A-Wish volunteers! Join current volunteers and staff and invite friends and family to learn more about Make-A-Wish, the wish granting process, and how to help grant wishes of children diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions. Make-A-Wish Northeastern California and Northern Nevada has granted more than 5,300 wishes to children within its 37-county service area, and the volunteers of Make-A-Wish play a number of vital roles in the Wish Granting process. There are currently more than 300 active volunteers that contribute to the mission. The volunteers of Make-A-Wish are devoted to the mission of granting wishes to children diagnosed with life threatening medical conditions. Many of the volunteers are deeply connected to the mission as well.

The regions of San Joaquin and Stanislaus are in need of Wish Granting Volunteers, Event Volunteers, and Regional Council Volunteers.  Wish Granting Volunteers act as a liaison between the Make-A-Wish staff and wish families by visiting with the families throughout the wish process, and must be at least 21 years of age to apply.  Special Event Volunteers assist with coordinating, setting-up, and participating in our chapter’s various events.  Finally, selected Regional Council Volunteers represent the diversity of our chapter’s region through attending monthly meetings with the Make-A-Wish Northeastern California and Northern Nevada Regional Councils.

To RSVP for this event, please visit necannv.wish.org and select the San Joaquin Volunteer Fair.  For more information, please contact Volunteer Manager Nichoel Menicucci at nmenicucci@necannv.wish.org.  Light refreshments will be provided.
