The B93 Live in Studio B CD is
out at local record stores. Probably not at Wherehouse since
they no longer know what music is nor do they support local
artists. Borders, Music Go round and others have this great
disk of exclusive in studio and concert tracks that only costs
$9.99 Proceeds go to Big Brothers and Big Sisters and it is
great. Also, look for the special ModestoView produced Flying
Blind Music Video for Smokescreeen as a "secret bonus track"
Have fun.
Who is to blame?
People are wigged out about the Papa Roach show. The only
breach in common sense are the parents who let their underage
kids go to the show. There is no secret what Papa Roach and
others are all about and that is their own deal. It is up
to the listeners and especially to the parents of younger
listeners to get in tune. Korn, Limp, Papa and others are
not cool for kids, but we can not shut down the options for
people of age to make their own decisions.
Speaking of Flying Blind, they
are not on over 100 radio stations nation wide. Added in the
important weeks before Christmas with is a radio station rarity.
Sounds like they will be big.
Also, from Flying Blind, they
are playing at San Francisco's Bottom of the Hill, Jan 3rd.
This is a rite of passage and a great place to hone your live
gig skills. San Franciscans are hard to please. Here are a
couple of more dates to check out.

Coming soon to Modesto at the State:
One of the bonuses to this year's edition of "Winter Night's
Yeow" is the song "Florida" by Ron DeLacy. "It's the most
requested song we've ever had," DeLacy says. Requests predated
its writing, since everyone wanted to know what Doodoo Wah
would do with the presidential election.
There are slightly more disparaging words aimed at Bush,
unless you count a few dimpled verses that were thrown out.
A sample:
- Who had the bright idea in the first place to let Florida
vote?
- What were they thinkin'? I got a stinkin' hunch they musta
just got offa the boat "What's with this card?" "This is too
hard"
- What retard had the bright idea in the first place to let
Florida vote?
- There was Georgie Walker Bush from the Texas plains
- Drinkin' and a-drivin' and a-snortin' cocaine
- One day he had himself a vision
- Went on the wagon, got religion
- He took up politics just like his daddy
- By gosh he didn't do half bad he
- Got elected governor and slashed welfare
- With creative use of the electric chair, he knew how to
use the electric chair
- He jumped into the presidential race feet first
- Thinkin' maybe people'd think the other guy was worse
- That was Al Gore, all stiff and smug, Movin' like a heavy
door and lyin' like a rug, he was movin'
- like a heavy door and lyin' like a rug
- It was complicated, difficult to choose
- The polls said the people wanted both of 'em to lose
- It was a no-win situation from the first
- And then Florida made it worse
- They got their ballots, moaned about 'e
- First they couldn't read 'em, then they couldn't count 'em
- Finally the final tabulations came in
- They said 'Bush won -- we better count 'em up again, Bush
won we better count 'em up again.
-You can hear this all in person because "Yeow" will be at
the State Theatre on Jan. 12.
