MJC Community Concert Band presents Fall Concert

The Modesto Junior College Community Concert Band presents a Fall Concert on Wednesday, December 2, at 7:30 p.m. in the Main Auditorium on East Campus, 435 College Avenue, Modesto. The event is open to the public and admission is free, with donations gratefully accepted

The Concert Band, conducted by Director of Bands Erik Maki, will perform The Fairest of the Fair by John Philip Sousa; Take Off by David Weinberger; Carnival Overture by Anton Dvorak/arr. by Leigh Steiger; From Every Horizon (A Tone Poem to New York) by Norman Dello Joio; Oberon Overture by Weber/arr. by Hindsley; El Camino Real by Alfred Reed and Masque by W. Francis McBeth.

Chris Murphy is the President and CEO of Sierra Pacific Warehouse Group and Publisher and Founder of ModestoView Inc. Chris worked globally in the cycling industry returning to Modesto in 1996. He is also the founder of the Modesto Historic Graffiti Cruise Route, Legends of the Cruise Walk of Fame, Modesto Rockin’ Holiday, the Modesto Music History Organization and co-founder of the Modesto Area Music Association. Chris is married to his artist wife Rebecca since 1985 and has two daughters Madison and Abigail, both graduating from Modesto High and UC Berkeley. He is lead singer and guitarist for his band, Third Party that donates their performances to non-profits.
