MJC Symphonic Band Concert – April 17


MJC Symphonic Band performs concert

The Modesto Junior College Department of Music presents the Symphonic Band in Concert on Monday, April 17 at 7 p.m. in the Main Auditorium on East Campus, 435 College Avenue, Modesto. The event is open to the public and admission is free, with donations gratefully accepted. Free campus parking is available for the evening in lots 104, 105, 106, and 108 to accommodate concert attendees.

The Symphonic Band, conducted by Erik Maki, performs a program of stirring works including Rituale by Elliot Del Borgo, Festiva Jubiloso by David R. Holsinger, Four Symphonic Chorales – III. Ye Watchers and Ye Holy Ones arranged by Eric Osterling and IV. Were You There When They Crucified My Lord arranged by Claude T. Smith, Herculaneum by Antony Cooke, Royal Escapades by John W. Stout, and Homage to Perotin by Ron Nelson.

Chris Murphy is the President and CEO of Sierra Pacific Warehouse Group and Publisher and Founder of ModestoView Inc. Chris worked globally in the cycling industry returning to Modesto in 1996. He is also the founder of the Modesto Historic Graffiti Cruise Route, Legends of the Cruise Walk of Fame, Modesto Rockin’ Holiday, the Modesto Music History Organization and co-founder of the Modesto Area Music Association. He is lead singer and guitarist for his band, Third Party that donates their performances to non-profits.
