Romantic Rockabilly Top 10 Love Songs & Serenading Your Partner
By Jennifer Allsup

Music to the ears is always a great start to serenading your partner. Let’s begin with some Buddy Holly “Love Me” & “I’m Going to Love You”, Elvis Presley “All Shook Up”, Wanda Jackson “Rockabilly Fever”, Gene Vincent “Ain’t She Sweet”, Johnny Burnett “Kiss Me”, Carl Perkins “Glad All Over”, Patsy Cline “Hungry For Love”, and lastly, Ritchie Valens “Little Girl”.
After asking several friends what their ideal date is, I have compiled the top 10 responses: 1) taking walks in the moonlight, 2) sitting in the back of a 1955 Chevy truck sipping PBRs, 3) a cheap restaurant with greasy food, 4) watching movies at the drive-in, 5) camping out by the river, 6) fishing, 7) sitting by the beach with the bonfire, 8) sharing ice cream sundae banana split (one of my favorites), 9) taking long bicycle rides, 10) bowling.
When it comes to dating in this day and age my friends, I have this advice for you: Honesty is much harder to come by so trust your instinct. Your heart may be broken, but your true love still awaits you. Make every moment of laughter count. Love who you are before giving yourself to another. Make the final decisions for yourself. Never cheat. Always be true and love your partner. Have a great time in your adventure because you’ll never know where it might end. Always enjoy the ride. Don’t date anyone from the bar! Love is in the air; not only for couples but for those passionate about life and music. Let’s go back to February 26, 1932: Happy birthday Johnny Cash! May you still rest in peace! In 1968 Carl Perkins composed a little rockabilly didley for Johnny Cash called “Daddy Sang Bass”. Another great rock ‘n roll legend that left this earth too soon, Mr. Buddy Holly. He was killed on February 3, 1959 in a plane crash along with Ritchie Valens, JP Richardson “The Big Bopper” and the pilot only a year and a half into his success. This was “The Day the Music Died”. Holly was a huge influence on the Beatles.
Leaving you with my own final thought: This year I will be celebrating 25 magical years with my handsome husband. Looking forward to many more to come!!! Happy Valentine’s Day Michael L. Allsup and our beautiful family!!
Love Me! Xoxo
