Scorpions Rock the Forum

Scorpions Rock the Forum
By Russ Allsup

When the Scorpions rolled into the Los Angeles Forum on Saturday, October 3rd, it a cause for celebration. As the band enters it’s fiftieth year, it’s still rocking as hard as ever. The forum was packed with rockers young and old who saw the show opened by Seattle band Queensryche, who put on a good show that covered their career and didn’t disappoint, got everyone in the mood for a great night of music.

Next up was the band everyone came to hear, who tore through a 18 song set that featured classics like ‘Rock You Like A Hurricane’, ‘The Zoo’, ‘Blackout’, and many more. The main focal point for me was guitar hero Rudolf Schenker, who plays and runs around the stage with the energy and enthusiasm of a teenager playing in their first band. The Scorpions come across as seasoned pros who can still deliver the goods and were just as solid as the first time I saw them play back in 1984.
