Center Stage Conservatory will be hosting a series of events this month to fundraise the remainder of their season. There is bound to be something for everyone on the Lower Level during these Hot August Nights.

Spoken Word and Singer Songwriter Showcase

Saturday August 6 starting at 8pm (doors 7:30pm)

A night of local talent performing their original work. The first half will be spoken word artists from the Central Valley, and after a short intermission we will finish the evening with a set of local singer-songwriters.

The spoken words artists will be: Alexys Rushing, Brandon Leake, Chad Sokolovsky, Jake Yates, Juniper Sprague, Melchor Sahagun III, Nena Larieze, and Summer Krafft

Musician’s Appearing:

Ben Baxter Brye, Mattea Overstreet, and Uri Rodriguez

Tickets will be $10 cash at the door.

The 24 Hour Plays

Saturday August 20 at 8pm (doors at 7:30pm)

6 ten-minute plays are written, rehearsed, and performed within 24 hours. Part spectacle, part sporting event, part theatrical experience, the 24 Hour Plays is always an exciting, entertaining event.

Tickets $5 cash at the door

Actors! Directors! Playwrights! It’s time again for the 24 Hour Plays at Center Stage. We need up to 24 actors, 6 directors and 6 playwrights. 6 short plays are written, rehearsed, and performed in a 24 hour period. All participants will arrive for a one-hour meeting at 9:30 PM on August 19th.

10:30 PM-5:30 AM: Writers will write 10 minute plays, specifically for the actors they are randomly assigned.

7:00 AM: Directors arrive for script assignments

8:00 AM: Actors return for team assignments

8:00 AM-9:30 PM: Rehearse! Memorize lines! Tech Rehearsal! And Performance!
