WELCOME TO WHAT'S HAPPENING
Modesto is the official center of California. The best dining, the best shows and the best in living are all here. In the great city of 206,000 people, you will find incredible independent restaurants, things to do for families , national caliber performers like Dwight Yoakam, Hootie and the Blowfish, Veritcal Horizon, Avril Lavigne and many more. Modesto is the home to B93.1 Summerfest in June, X-Fest in July and the annual MAMA Music Awards in October. We have some great art galleries, museums, and points of interest. There are new things to see and lots of music at the State Theater and the new Fat Cat Nightclub. Lots of our local restaurants have live music now. Take your kids to events at the Great Valley Museum and at the Modesto Museum and learn about our city. To get a quick link to all the good stuff. Try GoModesto.

Helpful tips!

When you plan your day or evening, then you need to see all of the things that can be grouped together. When you go to a show at The State or the Fat Cat Music House, plan on an early dinner reservation at 5:00 or 5:30. Most of the shows at The State are at 7:30 or 8:00. Many of the headliners at the Fat Cat start at 10:00 pm so you make make it a triple play, dinner - show - aftershow, all in walking distance from your parked car or hotel.

There is parking on 9th Street between K and L. There is a big garage on 11th Street between I and J. You can find another garage on the corner of 11th and K street. K is one way, so approach the garage entry from 9th Street. The new parking garage is on 12th bewteen H and I street. Most of the downtown restaurants and nightlife are all walking distance from these garages. Usually, there is plenty of street parking in the evenings. Have fun in Modesto. If you need a ride home, please call a cab.
