Greetings from ModestoView | 01-22-2020
ModestoView News Letter

Greetings Friends

We hope that you made it past Quitting Day!  Jan 20 was the date that people normally blow off their New Year’s resolutions, so I am confident that our ModestoView readers made much smarter resolutions or are sticking to them.   You all are the best.   This week there are so many things that will keep you on the right track and on the go in our community.   Our friends at the Chef’s of New York are adding more music during the week to their stellar Italian food.  If you missed it, here is our Jan ChefView to learn more.  P. Wexford’s, Rivets, Ralston’s Goat, and Urbano are all restaurants that regularly serve up live local music so we hope that you will check these places out as they really support our cultural experience.

There are some great things  to do this weekend and we have some of those sampled here in our Top 10.   To see a complete list of happenings in our area, click on www.modestoview.com and check out our calendar.  If YOUR event isn’t on this list, email us at events@modestoview.com   Event planners?  Do you have a gala,  fundraiser or concert, send us your dates so we can post your future event and other planners will know not to schedule something the same day.  ModestoView is here to help.

Explore this week and we hope to see you out and about, continuing your path to betterness in 2020.
See you soon – Chris Murphy

If you’re reading this, you already are pretty darn passionate about Modesto. You are proud of our culture and history; be it innovations in agriculture or irrigation, the awesome graffiti car culture or as home to great companies like E&J Gallo, the rockabilly underbelly we cherish or our incredible symphony, the family-oriented neighborhoods or the genuine warmth of our people. Yet how do we want the rest of the world to know about us? Read More

Blues is a Woman

By Patty Castillo Davis

Pamela Rose said something very provocative to me that got me thinking. When you think of the Blues, what does your mind conjure? A man and a guitar. This is contrary to the whole message behind her original musical retrospect-The Blues Is A Woman. Read More
