Waiting on the world to change is as much fun as watching paint drying, but on this lovely pre-spring morning I catch my breath. After witnessing the flowers start to open up between the mist and grey this morning, I know my waiting isn’t entirely in vain. Some believe that luck will guide your way in life and others know that hard work is rewarding. Well, Ms. M finds herself to be luckier than a cat with nine lives but she rarely relies solely upon that luck to help her way in the world or with her wallet. And my suggestion is that you don’t either. Here’s a few ways to make the best of your luck with your wallet.

March kicks off beautifully with The 43rd Annual Chinese New Year Celebration on March 1st at the Centre Plaza. At 5pm the party gets started with great food, entertainment and games. It’s all ages event and everyone is welcome to participate. Tickets: Adults $18/Children $12 available at Orient House 209-577-2099 or Imperial Garden 209-521-1226.

One of the area’s favorite events is the Annual Home and Garden show. Taking place March 6th -8th this event is packed with great vendors and ideas for homeowners and future homeowners to help improve their homes. Days and Times: Friday and Saturday 12pm-6pm and Sunday 10am-5pm. General Admision: $3.

Improve your luck by viewing of great art and music. Downtown Modesto welcomes its monthly Art Walk every third Thursday between the hours of 5 pm and 9pm. Several Galleries, Restaurants and Merchants play host to this all ages event that is entirely free. Stop by Mistlin Gallery, grab a map and make your way around downtown. March 19th kicks off the Spring 2015/Summer 2015 season. Don’t miss out!

Make the best of your luck with a chance to step out of your comfort zone and save a little green by heading out to Lucky Fest. Join in and spread your luck by celebrating St. Paddy’s day with a bit of decadent fun. Enjoy 25 of the finest and refreshing drinking establishments in the area with music and great energy March 21st starting at 3pm until 2am. 21+ event. Tickets: Presale $12/Gate $20.

End your Month with a Jig in your Step by taking in the beautiful choreography of Central West Ballet. Let’s Dance Part 2 takes center stage at the Gallo Center on March 27-28th at 7pm. The program is the culmination of six events the company has performed throughout the community. Tickets: $25-35.

Stay Lucky Modesto! But just in case you need a little help… Keep an eye out for those four leaf clovers and pots of gold! xo, m.
