Hello everyone. May is here, and the music is coming at you in all directions big and small. The fall lineup for the 10th Street Plaza is out, and there are a couple of big festivals to check out so let’s take a look. May 5th, the Poorhouse Millionaires will be on the 10th Street Plaza from 7-9. Same goes for Rob Hill Band on the 12th. As soon as Rob and the Boys wrap up in the Plaza, the Poorhouse Duo will pick things up across the street at the Goat Bar from 9 to midnight.

On the 13th we have a special night planned in the town of Banta over just to the east of Tracy at the Banta Inn, Cole Thomason and the Poorhouse Millionaires are going to play the night away in the large banquet room. It’s a rather cool historic spot that I feel is a hidden gem. Also on the 13th is the Monterey International Blues Festival this year headlined by Charlie Musselwhite, Mighty Mike Schermer. It’s a huge lineup and well worth checking out.

On the 20th The B-4 Dawn band will be at the Vintage Lounge in Turlock. On Sunday the 21st Harlis Sweetwater will be up at the Powerhouse Pub in Folsom. Harlis has played in Modesto a few times and is worth the trip if you are into Blues rock with horns.

On the 26th Rob Hill will be at Sandude, they call their sound Jazzy Blues, and I think it’s a fitting description. On the 27th the Poorhouse Millionaires are heading up to the Bourbon Barrel for some fun and some music. It’s a great spot, make sure to show up early if you want a seat.

Also on the 27th is the 27th Santa Cruz American Music Festival, this festival as all kinds of acts and includes Mavis Staples, Kenny Wayne Shepherd this year.
