Northern California Second Annual Cosplay Award Show returns January 7th to the Historic West Side Theatre in downtown Newman CA. The NorCal Cosies encompass a mini pop culture convention during the day along with a red-carpet cosplay awards show.

The Cosie-Con is Newman’s own Pop-Culture Convention. There will be vendors, artists and special guests including Ava Kolker(American Horror Story/Girl Meets World) and James Weston(Matrix-Reloaded/Transformers Dark of the Moon.) Additionally, there will be panels on bullying, cosplaying, crafting and special performances by Spotlight Dance and Powers Dance and Choreography. There will be something for fans of comic books, cosplay, fantasy and science fiction.

The NorCal Cosies is Northern California’s only Red-Carpet Awards show. There are 10 categories ranging from child to professional. James Weston and Ava Kolker will be co-hosting the Awards Show. The finalists have been narrowed down to the top 3 and the winner in each category will be chosen by the audience. Mindless Imagination Studios will be filming and live streaming this year’s event.

Last Year the Award Show sold out and over the day about 800 people attended the mini-con. Expectations are for this year’s event to meet or exceed those numbers. So make your plans, dress up and come out and spend the day at this great family friendly event.

NorCal Cosies 6pm-11pm $10 all proceeds from the event will go to the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
