FairView – July 13-22

By Chris Murphy

County fairs are some of America’s great traditions. Movies with Elvis have been made about State and County Fairs and these are some of the gatherings that bring us all together. Fairs have long been a place to showcase the local agriculture and in our area, the 4H and the animals are a big showpiece. The Stanislaus County Fair continues to grow and goes way beyond normal “Fair Food” with cool gourmet options, Wi-Fi charging stations, lots of live local music and big time headliners like Blue Oyster Cult, Trace Adkins, Kool & the Gang and more. As life get more and more complicated, the simple things make a bigger difference in our lives and connecting with friends in real time, doing real things has never been more important. It brings us together and our shared fun becomes memories for the future. So put down the video games, load the family up in the Truckster and head to the Fairgrounds in Turlock and have a slice of Americana. It is fun and for sure it will taste good.

MAMA at the Fair
The Modesto Area Music Association is hard at work making sure the talented musicians of our area get showcased as much as possible. Middagh Goodwin has teamed up with the Stanislaus County Fair to create a fantastic schedule of music this season to compliment the acts on the big main stage. Don’t miss all the local talent in between your rides and deep fried Twinkies. Fair food and fair music, great combo.
