MJC presents Yuletide Feast choral concert – Dec 9


Yuletide Feast choral concert presented at Modesto Junior College

The Modesto Junior College Department of Music presents “A Yuletide Feast: Dickens to Rock” choral concert on Friday, December 9 at 7 p.m. in the Auditorium of the Performing and Media Arts Center on the East Campus, 435 College Avenue, Modesto.

The MJC College Choir and Chamber Singers, directed by Professor Cathryn Tortell, will present a varied repertoire of family-friendly holiday fare. In the spirit of Charles Dickens, the program will take the audience on a journey of traditional English carols through contemporary seasonal “hits.” Included, will be music of Britten, Rutter, Berlin and other composers, as well as a celebration of Hanukkah.

The community is invited to enjoy this concert of Yuletide favorites, plus a few novelty surprises and an audience sing-a-long at the conclusion of the program.

Tickets to the holiday concert are $6 general admission and $3 for students, seniors, and children. Tickets are for sale in advance at the Auditorium Box Office, open Tuesday through Friday, 12 noon to 5 p.m., or by calling (209) 575-6776 during these hours. Tickets will also be available at the door beginning 90 minutes prior to the performance. Campus parking is free for the evening.
