An Explosive Summer of Music
By Patty Castillo Davis

There is no shortage of things to do in and around the 209.
Music is on every corner and music makers are in their “season”. One of the key events where we invest in and teach the next generation of musicians and sound engineers is at the Modesto Sound Summer Camp at the Gallo Center. How cool is a new generation of sound engineering professionals.

The Stanislaus County Fair will feature a MAMA stage this year where nominees and winners of Modesto Area Music Awards will showcase their eclectic styles. See page 17 for the full MAMA line up and go support our local musicians at the Fair and don’t forget the weekly Music in The Plaza show in 10th St Plaza.

Sunday Breakfast at Deva is hosting a great lineup of entertainment in a loving space and family friendly environment-7/2 Big Me, 7/9 Tim Allen and Patty Castillo Davis, 7/16 Dale Huff, 7/30 Me&You and down the street at Ralston’s Goat, there is music nearly all day Sunday for your enjoyment.

The ModestoView stage at the Third Thursday Art walk on July 20 will present Tim Allen and his incredible interpretations of your favorite cover tunes. Just try to stump the band, he knows nearly everything.

Watch for the first annual Porchfest on July 30th, a giant house party with bands on the porches throughout the city. www.modestoporchfest.com

The offerings are plentiful so please support the scene, choose an eatery that has live musicians, buy tickets to legit music fundraisers, offer your space as a new venue, share events on social media that feature women performers and drop your money to buy band merch.
Come see me in the train, a porch, the Farmers Market, concert in a park or in Knight’s Ferry!

Please send your songwriter events to pattycastillodavis.com and inquiries for booking pcdenterprises@yahoo.com<mailto:pcdenterprises@yahoo.com>
