For the Freaks, Geeks, and Outcasts
By Middagh Goodwin

This album(or an album) has been a long time coming from the Flowers, and could have ended up being a totally different collection of songs. The Flowers began recording an album around five years ago, with plans to release it on vinyl, but had to reboot when their house and home studio burned down in April of 2023. It took a while for the band to get back up to speed, buying new instruments and recording gear. In that time, they kept writing new songs, and when the time came, a new album was in the works to be recorded.

The Flowers (a self-proclaimed group of “freaks, mutants, & buffoons” from Modesto, CA) released their debut Vinyl Record, For The Freaks, on December 5th, 2025, at The Prospect Theater Project. The band says this record will take you on a psychedelic, fuzzed-out spiral into infinity. Rock N’ Roll, sick, twisted, and dosed. Anger & sadness, fueled by the hope for peace & love. The first pressing of only 100 copies available on Black Vinyl, with an 8×8 Lyric Zine, 2 Stickers, and more. Think old school DEVO meets Black Sabbath, loaded with lots of tasty guitar licks and leads, thundering drums, galloping basslines, and drenched in layers of synth. The artwork and layout were done by the guitarist/vocalist, Christian Boyatt, recorded and produced by the band, mixed, and mastered it by Curt Walls from Sloome at Shed Studios.
