BigView – fotoModesto

By Chris Murphy
Photos By David Schroeder, Michael Mangano, Rebecca Harvey, Chris Murphy

Modesto, it is time for your close up. Sometimes we have to turn the camera on ourselves. There are so many different ways to look at our community and our surroundings. Local photographer David Schroeder, Edward Mendes and John Wynn feel the same way and are bringing the 2nd Annual fotoModesto to over 26 downtown Modesto galleries, public spaces and local businesses. Local photographers, photo collectives, local places, regional and global subjects will be showcased all over our community.

In addition to the lineup of local photographers, the works of Q.T. Luong will be on display at the Mistlin Gallery. He will be showing is amazing project, Treasured Lands, that covers the 59 National Parks and has received many awards and featured by Ken Burns. He will be at the opening reception February 2 at the Mistlin Gallery.

ModestoView is proud to be part of this event in a couple of ways as Michael J Mangano’s black and white live performance show will be presented at the Prospect Theatre Project. His angel project is also on display at the Mistlin Gallery. Photos from Chris Murphy and ModestoView that appeared in the Ken White book, Touchstones: Life & Times of Modesto, will be showcased at the Gallo Center for the Arts.
