AllAgesView – Happy March Modesto

By Grace McNamara

Happy March, Modesto!
I hope you all had a nice February and ate a lot of chocolate this Valentine’s Day. With March here, this means St. Patrick’s day is coming up. This holiday is especially important to me because I am part Irish. There is a super fun and tasty option to do here in Modesto that’s festive for St. Paddy’s day! This is called the Celtic afternoon tea! You can enjoy the traditional fare of Ireland! There are sandwiches, cheese plates, pastries, and other sweet treats. This event is from March 2nd through April 2nd at the Dragonfly Tea Room. For more information about it, you can visit their website at www.dragonflytearoom.<www.dragonflytearoom.bet>net.

I have to admit my favorite thing to look forward to in March is the Girl Scout cookies! This annual fundraiser teaches young girls many different life skills. Buying these delicious cookies is a great way to support the organization. There are many assorted flavored cookies to choose from. Personally, my favorite is Caramel Delights. Buying from your local girl scout is a great way to stay involved and support our wonderful community!

A challenging opportunity coming up this month is the Modesto Marathon. The run takes place on March 27th. If a marathon sounds too tough, no worries. You can choose from a 5k, 10k, half marathon, or full. ShadowChase Running Club puts on this event. This is a non-profit organization that promotes fitness in the valley. The proceeds benefit the Teens-Run Modesto. It challenges teens to experience goal setting, character development, and work on physical and mental health. I suggest looking into this, whatever your fitness level may be. I hope you all have a safe and fun March!

Publishers note: the new Girl Scout Adventrufuls are AMAZING! I bought 6 boxes.
