Celebrating Martin Luther King

Martin Luther King taught us how to lift humanity up, respect each other and work hard and peacefully to make positive change. In a year when it feels like we are slipping backwards, we need to reach out to each other, and celebrate the leaders who speak for those without voices. We move forward when we all move forward.

Join in the annual MLK Celebration, January 19 at the Christian Love Church at 202 H Street beginning at 10 am. Following this celebration, there will be a King Kennedy Luncheon at the Modesto Senior Center at Scenic and Bodem.

Coming in February for Black History Month
Ilyasah Shabazz, Malcom X’s daughter will be the speaker on the MLK event happening on Saturday, February 7, 2026. This free to the community event will be held at MJC and is co-sponsored by Modesto Junior College, Associated Students of Modesto Junior College, CSU Stanislaus, and others
