Opera Modesto 35th Anniversary Concert Gala

Opera Modesto’s 35th Anniversary Concert on October 28th includes 21 teens from the Summer Opera Institute, a summer program of the new Townsend Opera Program (TOP) for Young Artists. They spent an intensive two weeks this past summer in voice lessons, performing techniques, language lessons and more. The culmination of their efforts was a concert extraordinaire at the Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Modesto. If you missed that concert, you can see them perform at the Cultural Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Oakdale on November 8, 2018, for an encore performance at 7:00 pm (FREE ADMISSION!).
And don’t miss the 35th Anniversary Gala concert at the Gallo Center for the Arts where these fine young artists from the Summer Opera Institute will be featured in the famous “Barcarolle” from Offenbach’s melodious Tales of Hoffman.
They will also join the Opera Modesto Chorus to perform a wide variety of opera favorites in several languages, including joining star, Nikola Printz, in singing the beautiful “Habanera” from Bizet’s Carmen.
Don’t miss these great performances or these great teenage artists. See you at the opera, where you can share the joy of operatic discovery with the next generation…you will leave the theater whistling and humming the tunes!
