Prospect Season
Mingling scenes of explosive drama with moments of fanciful imagery, the play deftly blends its two natures as it moves to its conclusions when, in a theatrically magical moment, illusion and reality achieve a remarkable synthesis.

State Theatre
The State is going to ROCK in July
I remember when Y & T was Yesterday & Today. They were rockin the charts and the local radio stations everywhere. Y & T has been a regular at X Fest and now they bring the stack of hits to the State Theatre. Please note that this is sold out and keep your eyes and ears open for some tix close to showtime. July 16. 8 pm www.thestate.org

Let’s have a red carpet premier!
“Two Million” opens July 23 with local movie director Andrew Chandra as he brings his vision to life on the big screen. Walk the red carpet with the famous cast, crew, and directors followed by the premier, with pictures, autograph signing, Facebook live, KCRA 3 live news coverage, and possibly a special appearance by the Mayor of Modesto. ModestoView will be there live! Do not miss out! Two Million is a story about a rich family’s son that gets kidnapped. When a family partnership deal goes wrong with a rival in the export industry an unexpected debt must be paid in full.

July 23 – Red Carpet at 6; film at 7 p.m. Tix: $10

Also, at the State will be a very cool movie about the Chelsea Hotel in New York City. I was just recently in the Village and walked by the Chelsea, that was home to rocks legends, artists, authors and actors for decades from Mark Twain, Jack Kerouac, Ramones, Robert Mapplethorpe, Andy Warhol, Velvet Underground, Bob Dylan, Madonna and so much more. It was under construction and has just recently reopened. This movie will premier in the Jewell, July 8 -14 www.thestate.org I took the attached picture in September 2021
