Rockin’ Holiday Thanks

from Chris Murphy

It was a wonderful season in the Rockin’ North Pole of Downtown Modesto. Rockin’ Holiday had 9 wonderful nights of Rockin’ Fun. Thousands of kids met Rockin’ Santa who delivered each a candy cane during their free visits and free photos. The Rockin’ Tree performed nightly in the Plaza and lit up a big show for thousands of people opening night after the Celebration of Lights Parade. Kids of all ages enjoyed the Rockin’ Snow shows that turned 10th St into a winter wonderland and even made for snow-filled finish line for the Spirit of Giving Run. 12 different bands played for the people and Modesto’s holiday tradition was better than ever.

This is one of my favorite examples of Modesto teamwork to make something special. First and foremost, thanks Middagh Goodwin for the band booking and the city paperwork and the promo. Thank you to my Sierra Pacific Warehouse Group operations team, Nick Crocket, Tyler, and the Sorias, Johnny, Johnny Jr, Ruben, and JD Harbin for building and maintaining this wonderland each year. I am so grateful to Matt Paine, Brian Gini, Kevin and the Collins Electric Crew for the amazing electrical magic. We welcomed a new presenting sponsor, Save Mart to the holiday, joining Beard Land. We could not do this without Brenden Theatres for being our home base. Thank you to Fuzio for the great support and Visit Modesto, Modesto DID, Downtown Modesto (DOMO), Modesto Area Music Association, the City of Modesto, Modesto Parks Dept, 10th St JPA, George Halprin, Modesto on Ice, T-Cups Café, Rodin’ Farms, Gary Nelson Law, Sammy D & T, Ceres Pipe KAT Country 103 and the Modesto Police for keeping an eye on everything. Thanks Dave and Jules, Soul Fidelity Sound and Ray Ray Sheen for making everything sound great.

For 13 years, we have turned 10th St Plaza into a winter Rockin’ wonderland and hope everyone enjoyed it. It takes great teamwork to make some magic and I thank you. Can’t wait ‘till next year. @rockinholiday
