Service View

ServiceView
By Chris Murphy
The best communities are filled with people who get involved and give their time, talent and money back. Sometimes it seems complicated to do, but it is really easier than you think. This is where our local service groups come in. It is the power of a group that makes this work. It is easier to team up to solve a problem than taking it on alone. Groups like Rotary, Kiwanis, Lions, Elks, Soroptimists, Eagles, Moose and others are ready to take on our local challenges and offer good fellowship at the same time. ModestoView is compiling a list of the local services clubs and contact information on how to get involved. If we have missed something or don’t have a meeting date right, please let us know at info@modestoview.com<mailto:info@modestoview.com>

Here are some highlights happening this month.
Support Modesto Rotary and get Fleetwood Mac
MORO AT THE GALLO presents Tusk. No fancy tricks, no gimmicks, just five musicians recreating the music of Fleetwood Mac to perfection with note for note renditions that no other Fleetwood Mac tribute on the touring scene today can come close to duplicating. Tusk covers all the great hits of Fleetwood Mac, which has featured the talents of Mick Fleetwood, Christine and John McVie, Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks and others over the years. The five seasoned, well-respected musicians comprising Tusk have been making music together in various combinations and styles, in original outfits and in cover bands, for over twenty-five years. ModestoView Crew’s Chris Murphy is a proud Rotarian. February 20 – 7:30 pm Get tix at www.galloarts.org<www.galloarts.org> and at the Modesto Rotary Club Meetings, noon Tuesday’s at the Doubletree.

25th Annual Bacchus and Brews
The Modesto Sunrise Rotary presents one of their annual favorite events, with specialty food tasting and of course, wine and brew offerings. This fun event helps the club foundation raise money for local and global projects. Great cause, great fun and a very tasty way to help those in need. February 23 – St Stanislaus School Gym – 6 pm
Tix at www.modestosunriserotary.org – $35.
