If you are looking for a Valentine’s gift, Modesto definitely has you covered. Everyone knows about the McHenry Mansion, but do you know about the amazing gift shop right next to it? Step into the fantastic ‘Stanislaus Selections’ in-museum gift shop & bookstore. It is now magically transformed into a delightful “Love Shack” just in time for Valentine’s Day! They have just set out the perfect, heartfelt gifts for friends, that special someone—or even a delightful treat for yourself. Within the cozy confines of the museum, the store offers a selection of unique and thoughtful Valentine’s gifts. The “Love Shack” is the perfect place to pick up books, valentines, socks, cards, candies, and much more. The shop opens its doors every Friday through Sunday, inviting visitors from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. So, whether you’re on a quest for the perfect Valentine’s surprise or simply looking to indulge in a bit of self-love, the gift shop is sure to capture the essence of this season of love.

Modesto has a great art scene. One of the things I love to do is drive around the city and look at all the different murals. Chartreuse Muse is an amazing perk we have in the city. It is an art gallery, clay studio, and an art school! Muse teachers and visiting guest artists offer classes to suit all interests of students. Students range from kids to adults! Don’t be shy because all skill levels are welcome! The gallery is open from 11 am to 5 pm Tuesday through Friday, and they have open studio hours on Saturdays from 1 pm to 5 pm.
